Francis was founded by the Ouimette family as a way to honor our ancestor, Francis Ouimet, and the legacy he left on the game we love.

At a time when golf was largely considered a sport for the British upper class, Francis, an American amateur golfer from a humble background, shocked the golfing world by defeating Harry Vardon and Ted Ray to win the 1913 U.S. Open. His victory helped popularize the game in the United States and inspired a new generation of golfers.

As golfers ourselves, we've always been drawn to his story and the role it played in shaping the game we know today. More than a century later, his connection to the game remains an important part of our family's own connection to golf.
